Private Lessons:

Private lessons are offered by various skating professionals at Sharpstown Ice Center. These professionals must have a contract with the Ice Center, for safety's sake. Freestyle Skating Sessions:

Freestyle sessions are practice sessions for figure skaters with limited access to the ice. Most private lessons are given on these sessions. The cost of the Freestyle session is not included with the private lesson paid to the coach. These sessions are scheduled at various times in varying lengths (usually half an hour). Sessions are reserved by placing a coupon on the appropriate Freestyle sheet on a first-come basis. Coupons are usually purchased in bulk on an advance purchase basis but are also available on a single-session or walk-on basis. A skater must affix their coupon before taking the ice. If the skater forgets their advance purchase coupons, they must purchase a walk-on coupon. Coupons are for a specific session and not for a period of time. That is, if a skater skates only the last half of a session they must still clear the ice and cannot skate the first half of the next session on the same coupon. Skaters without coupons who take the ice must leave the ice until the coupon is affixed. Once a coupon is affixed it cannot be removed.
